The Communications team manages all public relations and influencer marketing for 2K titles. We are a team of talented storytellers, passionate video game players and communications professionals dedicated to raising awareness and driving purchase intent for our slate of fantastic games. We challenge ourselves to create fresh strategies, and leverage our deep relationships with influencers, consumer media and enthusiast press to tell compelling brand stories. What We Need:
An experienced influencer marketing professional to be a primary stakeholder in the continued development and evolution of 2K's creator program, NextMakers. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the content creation industry within the video game space, intimate knowledge of the tools of the trade, a history of influencer relations, and is determined to apply all for the betterment of creator and publisher relationships. This position requires a degree of empathy towards the brands content creators have built independently while also understanding the business needs of 2K. Creating mutual benefit for both organization and creator is the foundation of NextMakers and the primary tool 2K will utilize in building sustainable long-term relationships with its most passionate and influential players. What You Will Do:
Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Influencer Marketing - Global Operations based in Novato, California, and working across all games in 2K's vast portfolio of titles, you will serve as a primary operations, strategy, and project manager for the NextMakers program. Serve as primary internal subject matter expert for influencer marketing, providing on-going guidance and direction as needed to all of 2K's local market teams worldwide. Be a program facing personality for those within the program. This includes some level of talent relations and the ability to conduct program-wide communications. Develop and deploy international operations plans to engage creators and internal team members worldwide through the NextMakers program. Develop unique and creative offerings exclusive to the NextMakers program that drive value to both members and the organization. Collaborate with creators and team members to strategize and communicate innovative and best-in-class affiliate marketing practices that put creators and 2K in a position to be successful. Partner with various teams across 2K, such as web development, creative services, direct-to-consumer, brand marketing, legal, and others to manage execution of NextMakers program initiatives. Work directly with title leads and 2K's influencer AOR to ensure inclusion of NextMakers in overall brand marketing campaigns. Be a primary point of contact for building strategic partnerships outside of the organization with businesses interested in being part of the 2K creator ecosystem. Work closely with 2K's independent studios to facilitate feedback and drive professional conversation between development and creator. Monitor, analyze and report performance metrics for NextMakers activations. Leverage insights and member feedback to improve 2K's influencer marketing programs. Help manage and drive all external vendors supporting 2K's influencer marketing efforts, including but not limited to influencer marketing agencies, talent agencies and freelance contributors. Accurately maintain all budgets and oversee execution of agency work and prioritization of projects under your purview. Collaborate with Social Media Manager colleagues as needed to provide compelling influencer-led content that will engage fans on our brands' social media channels. Who We Think Will Be A Great Fit:
2K is looking for an influencer marketing professional with experience launching video games, ongoing lifecycle management, and a personal passion for breaking down walls between publisher and content creators. They have a service-oriented mindset and are seasoned project managers capable of motivating, directing, and holding teams accountable for delivering against global campaign plans. The ideal candidate has a history or working cross functionally within an organization. They have experience with (or at least a strong interest in) taking a data-driven approach to their influencer marketing strategy. They are versed in and have experience working with social and CRMs, influencer marketing platforms such as CreatorIQ, a history with affiliate marketing, and an intimate knowledge of Discord. Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or a related area of study. A minimum of 5
years of influencer marketing work experience, including experience launching video games. PR/marketing agency experience and knowledge of video games industry is strongly preferred. Ability to anticipate necessary next actions and accept responsibility for moving projects toward completion. A fundamental understanding of the creator economy within the video game industry. Demonstrated cross functional and project management skills. Excellent presentation skills. Experience working on and developing affiliate marketing programs. Success at building B2B partnerships. A love of video games, especially sports simulation, action, strategy and arcade games. A passion for content creation and the understanding of the role the industry plays within an organization's marketing mix. Excellent organization, interpersonal, and written and verbal communications skills. Ability to build strong, lasting professional relationships with internal partner groups and individuals. Strong PC skills, expert knowledge of Twitch/YouTube/Facebook/Discord and each platform's unique features. Familiarity with social listening, video analytics, and influencer marketing tools like Spiketrap, Synthesio, Xsolla, Tubular, StreamHatchet, and CreatorIQ is strongly preferred. Previous job experience at startups a plus.
